Her Grace in Disgrace by Claudia Harbaugh The Rise of Miss Notley by Rachael Anderson The Fall of Lord Drayson by Rachael Anderson I prefer the more reserved romances that are about the relationship and not about getting the other person into bed. I don't want any heaving bosoms, thank you. To set the record straight, I'm a fan of the sweet romances aka the "clean" or "traditional" romances. I've read dozens of books and some of my favorite books of all time can be counted in this genre.Įven though I know that a majority of them are ridiculous and sappy, I have a special part of my reader's heart reserved for historical romances. 2016 was the first time I picked up a historical romance (and I'm not including Jane Austen or any of the classics in this group, as they were generally contemporary romances at the time they were written), but since then I've become hooked. Granted, a majority of them are cheesy and/or sex-filled, which generally lands them straight in the reject pile for me, but the books I've found I love, I really, really love. I always thought they were cheesy, sex-filled pieces of crap, so I didn't have much use for them. This is a relatively new love for me (no pun intended).
